caesars diamond plus - strategies for negotiating 4 drink coupons?

I'm a Caesars Diamond Plus so I get 4 drink vouchers per day worth up to $20/each. Laurel Lounge is closed but Caesars provides a list of various bars and restaurants where those coupons can be redeemed. Lucky 88 is an Asian bistro @ Paris Casino. Lucky 88 has a wine list which includes:
NIVOLE MOSCATO D’ASTI $16.88
This sells online for < $25/bottle. I was wondering if I might be able to get a whole bottle to go with 4 drink vouchers b/c $80 in vouchers for a $25 bottle of wine. Has anyone here tried something like this before? Do you have any other creative strategies for making use of your 4 drink vouchers every day?

Plans for the future?

SimCasino is in early access. I was curious if the devs have any kind of a road map for features they plan to add in to the game.
But in the meantime, here are some ideas I'd love to see implemented one way or another...

Question on Caesars Diamond & MLife Gold

My wife and I are traveling to Las Vegas in November and I have a question about the casino statuses and waiting in lines.
If I’m the only one with Caesars Diamond and MLife Gold. can my wife get in the same line as me (diamond/gold line) when waiting for restaurants or lines to get on an attraction?
Is there a way for her to get a copy of my diamond for herself?
Thank you

My experience staying on the strip last weekend

Hey Vegas!
I forgot I wanted to make a "trip report" style post, but it may be a little late to do so and probably didn't take enough photos. I live in Phoenix so I end up going roughly 4 times a year or so. I referenced this sub quite a bit over the past couple months as I was eager to get back, and wanted to stay informed with the local happenings. Figured I'd share my experience with anyone that may be lurking and wanted to get a lay of the land, if anyone has any questions, let me know!
I drove out Friday evening, and arrived around 6pm. I stayed at Caesar's Palace, and was able to get both Friday/Saturday night comped, just had to pay resort fees. I'm sure if you're reading this you already know this, but you should ALWAYS have a players card and use that card when booking rooms. I'm not a high roller by any means, but I do play regularly while i'm there and almost always receive comped rooms at mid range Caesar's properties. They are encouraging using self check in kiosks, and you need to have your temperature taken when checking in, I passed the test, and went off to the room. The rooms have roughly 6x6 square stickers that they place on the crease of the door after it has been serviced, indicating it has been cleaned and is safe to enter. The room seemed to be as clean as normal, but it is my understanding they are sanitizing high touch items (phone/glasses/remotes) much more thoroughly. Seemed good to me. The only downside of the room was the screaming infant next door (I will never understanding bringing small kids to Vegas).
Showered up and changed, threw some beers on ice, and hit the casino floor. I was happy to see that masks were required at BlackJack, and tables were limited to 3 people. I was not thrilled to lose a few hundred bucks in 15 minutes. Decided to try my hand at some video poker, I always play $5 credits and play max. No luck, and dusted off another few hundred pretty quickly. I was down to my last $300 I was willing to risk for the night, and started to make a mini comeback on video poker. I switched to $10 credits, played max bet, and drew 2 4 5 6 spades and an offsuit king........held the 4 straight flush cards and BANG, nailed the 3 of spades for a straight flush, my first ever on VP, and nailed a $2,500 jackpot. Got the hand pay and promptly cashed out.
Ran back to the room to drop most of my winnings in the safe and heard the small infant was still crying. Time for tip #2, which I'm sure most of you know, "the $20 trick". I think being friendly and casual with the staff is most key with this. I approached the front desk, and explained to the gentlemen I just checked in to Julius tower, but there has been a child screaming consistently next door and I'd like to change rooms. I put my ID and my room key on the counter, along with $30 and said "If there is anything you're able to do in terms of a complimentary upgrade, I'd greatly appreciate it, I am not concerned about which tower i'm in". He spends some time on the computer and says he found me a Jacuzzi room with a view of the pool, and he thinks I'll really like it. Grab ID and new room key, and leave the $30 on the desk for my new friend at the front desk. Get to the room and it is a massive upgrade from the one before. It is palace tower, Jacuzzi in the bathroom, and easily twice as much room with a big L couch in the corner, with a great view of the pool. Thankful for the screaming kid, and you should ALWAYS tip your front desk!
Back to safety of the strip, got caught rambling there, had a great time. I think Vegas is doing a good job of enforcing safety for COVID19. There are masks available, sanitation stations everywhere, and most games offer physical distancing. I will say that craps and roulette at Caesar's were both very full, with no effort other than sanitizing dice. The Wynn did much better with plexiglass everywhere. As an avid poker play, I have never seen casino chips this clean. It is clear they're cleaning them often, as they should. Caesar's will not clean your room while you are there, however they will deliver towels or toiletries upon request. Room service for food was unavailable. Restaurants were limited, but still plenty of good options, and dining felt very safe with staff wearing masks and social distancing.
TLDR: My opinion is that of a healthy 20s male with no underlying conditions. I use PPE in public more for the safety of others than myself, as I have a strong likelihood of being okay if I contract COVID. I feel Vegas is doing a good (not great) job of cleaning protocols and enforcing social distancing. If you are on the fence about going, and you are healthy/do not come in regular contact with those at risk, I suggest you go. As always, practice good hygiene and respect distance. There is still plenty of fun to be had in Vegas. Enjoy yourself, and tip your front desk agent!!

Caesars Entertainment and Covid

I'd just like to shed some insight on how Caesars is handling the Covid pandemic. I've been an employee for Caesars for over 5 years now. My job consists of going between all 9 casinos on a daily basis so I get to see the operations of each casino behind the scenes. It's unsettling to me how few people realize how this company had originally planned on handling the city's response before the mandated shut down.
Caesars was intent on staying open after many competitors announced they were shutting down in an effort to keep people safe. It was clear we were attempting to poach business from competitors as the higher ups were gleefully bouncing around bragging about the opportunity to instill brand loyalty and pump their numbers up. We reassured thousands of people that we would be open and were not shutting down. "But don't worry!" they said, "We have new safety protocols to keep everyone safe!" These measures to keep people safe were shutting down every other slot machine and limited hours in a restaurant. They did not enforce social distancing just encouraged it. There were no masks, no enhanced cleaning, and no provided PPE for employees at any point before the shut down.
During the shut down they naturally required a select few security employees and surveillance/maintenence people to stay on. They turned off the AC in the casinos and due to the immense rush of a last minute, mandated shut down (my boss called me 2 hours before the announcement), things were rushed and left half-assed or blatantly ignored. You can imagine the fun smells coming from an uncirculated, hot casino when things aren't cleaned properly. Furthermore, the employees required to work were given forced schedules and denied any time off. The way Caesars works time off now is that you need to accrue time off by working. A lot of these people had capped out on their paid time off and were not allowed to use it so they could start accruing more which limits the overall paid time off they're allowed to take this year.
Those who were laid off or furloughed were not given any reassurance that they would still be paid and instead were required to sign a waiver stating you'd like to use your paid time off until it's out before having to file for unemployment. I know my department strongly urged myself and my coworkers to opt for this which felt worse as we watched companies like Wynn/Encore announce they were paying their full time employees their wages throughout all of this. Coming back without any vacation time was bad but thinking we were going into this about to take a big pay cut for an unforeseen amount of time was much worse. Nobody knew of the stimulus package before that so many people burned up all their vacation time they had earned for the year.
Coming back started with a phone call. The call instructed us that if we did not feel safe we could take 30 days to decide yes or no before our positions would be replaced. We were told because of this call we would lose our unemployment benefits as we were declining work and the company would stop paying our medical while furloughed.
Coming in was a sense of relief. Masks, temperature checks, everyone being taught how to clean and use proper PPE procedures. They strictly enforce social distancing to employees in back of house. Everything seemed to be in place. Then you head out to the casino floor, watching as crowds of people shoulder to shoulder well over the 50% capacity we were promised, flooded in without masks. Drinking, smoking, yelling in our faces. It felt as if nothing had changed. All these safety protocols in the back of house disregarded the minute you step onto the floor. Throughout the back of house there's plenty of signs stating front of house employees MUST wear the Caesars brand masks or a disposable surgical type. I asked if I would be allowed to bring in an N95 mask of my own since maybe about 10% of customers were wearing masks and of those 10% maybe 5% were wearing them properly. I was directed to the sign, only the cloth mask and these disposable surgical masks were allowed in front of house. Back of house employees are able to wear custom masks as long as they were work place appropriate.
I've been told from security there is over $200,000 worth of plexiglass sitting in storage at the Flamingo that was never set up. I have not verified that is true but they brought it up on their own volition without me asking. These new mask enforcement mandates are a joke. It sounds great until you see the "...unless eating or drinking (and apparently smoking)." So basically everyone in Vegas right? People walking around in droves with masks around their chins and an empty cocktail glass in their hand. You stop and ask them to put their mask on and of course... "But I have a drink!" All of these protocols never hold up when it comes to actually enforcing them. The reduced labor resulting in forced, increased hours, coupled with a low morale from feeling helpless and forced back into an unsafe environment has run its course.
This isn't political, I understand the need for our economy to stay afloat. I know people want a sense of normalcy back. Nobody has trained for this scenario but we have tried and tested methods of doing things right that this company continues to neglect or fails to reinforce.

Refunds on EDC Week?

I tried getting a refund from Hakkasan for an EDC Week show but they aren't offering refunds unless they remain close in May, is anyone else having this problem? Seems really shady to not be offering refunds on an EDC Week show knowing EDC got rescheduled...

Ceasers Diamond Status match

As this was being discussed very frequently in Daily post, thought to make a separate post. Happy to delete this if not required.
I was in Vegas for 2 days and have returned yesterday night. During my stay, had used my and my spouse diamond status to stay in Caesar. I am sharing my experience and Data points:
Getting Diamond status
Data points
Booking.
Benefits.
Free valet parking. While requesting the car back from Valet, show your diamond card to one of the agent. You will not need the card while driving in Caesars. This saves $30 USD per day.
Checkin. have a special desk for Diamond members infront of Starbucks. You can make any kind of room request here. The staffs are very friendly. Also, you don't need your diamond card here.
For all other other benefits, you have to get your diamond card from Rewards center. To get the card, you need to show your ID. They said it has to be a driving license or passport.
USD 100 celebration dinner.
2 show tickets every month.
Other benefits.
P.S. For members who also have Secondary Amex Platinum card, make the secondary card holder also a Caesars diamond. This way you both will get 100 USD for dinner and 2 show tickets. This worked for me :)
Also, if you plan well you can be at Vegas when the month changes. Then you may get 4 show tickets, 2 for each month per diamond status

Wall Street Breakfast: The Week Ahead. I read this and thought it interesting. Enjoy from SeekingAlpha

Nike (NYSE:NKE) will headline a light roster of earnings reports in the week ahead, while Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) WWDC event sets the stage for the company's launch of the first 5G iPhones later this year. On the economic front, reports on existing home sales, jobless claims, consumer spending and a Q1 GDP revision will be the headliners. Fed heads are out in force next week, with virtual speeches on the docket for Raphael Bostic, James Bullard and Charles Evans. In a sign of normalcy, Ford (NYSE:F) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (NYSE:FCAU) are expected to return to pre-pandemic production levels at U.S. plants, while results of Fed stress tests on major banks will be announced on June 25.
Earnings spotlight: IHS Market (NYSE:INFO) on June 23; BlackBerry (NYSE:BB), KB Home (NYSE:KBH) and National Beverage (NASDAQ:FIZZ) on June 24; Nike (NKE), Darden Restaurants (NYSE:DRI), Accenture (NYSE:ACN) and Rite Aid (NYSE:RAD) on June 25.
IPO watch: U.S. grocery store operator Albertsons (ACI) is expected to price its IPO next week and begin to trade. The company could have a valuation of over $10B if the IPO prices at the midpoint of the expected range of $18 to $20 range. Albertsons, which is looking to raise as much as $2B, is one of the grocery chains seeing a sales boom in business during the coronavirus pandemic. Stakeholders Kimco Realty (NYSE:KIM) and Cerberus Capital are both selling off shares in the offering. No other IPOs are due to price during the week.
M&A tidbits: The walk date for the Caesars Entertainment (NASDAQ:CZR)-Eldorado Resorts (NASDAQ:ERI) merger arrives on June 24, although no surprises are anticipated. Shareholders vote on the Provident Financial (NYSE:PFS)-SB One Bancorp (NASDAQ:SBBX) deal on June 25. On the same date, Delphi Technologies (NYSE:DLPH) shareholders vote on the merger with BorgWarner (NYSE:BWA). It is almost a lock that there will be some more drama in the Taubman Centers (NYSE:TCO)-Simon Property (NYSE:SPG) duel.
Projected dividend changes (quarterly): Kroger (NYSE:KR) to $0.17 from $0.16, John Wiley (NYSE:JW.A) to $0.35 from $0.34, Saul Centers (NYSE:BFS) to $0.27 from $0.53.
Spotlight on Nike: Nike will post its FQ4 report with more uncertainty in the air than almost any time before due to the lack of formal guidance from the company. The two biggest pullouts from the report are likely to be the pace of recovery in China and the momentum of the e-commerce business. Nike is one of the companies seen by Wall Street as in a strong position on the other side of the pandemic. "We see Nike as favorably positioned for both secular fitness/casualization trends and industry structural changes that benefit those with strong direct engagement with consumers," notes bullish-leaning Wells Fargo ahead of the print. Stocks that quite often move right along with Nike on earnings day include Foot Locker (NYSE:FL), adidas (OTCQX:ADDYY), Under Armour (NYSE:UAA) and Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS).
WWDC: Apple will hold its annual developers conference on June 22-26 in a virtual format this year. Apple is expected to announce its ARM-based Macs as the company advances its control of chips and architecture away from Intel (NASDAQ:INTC). Enhancements with iOS14, tvOS 14 and watchOS 7 are also anticipated, along with new products/R&D initiatives on the AR headset and wearables/AirPods front. Tim Cook will give the keynote presentation on June 22 at 10:00 Pacific time in what is likely to be his last presentation before the annual September iPhone reveal event.
Healthcare watch: Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY) has an investor series presentation next week covering its early pipeline/immuno-oncology on June 22 and hematology on June 25. PDUFA dates arrive for Karyopharm Therapeutics' (NASDAQ:KPTI) Xpovio on June 23, Zogenix's (NASDAQ:ZGNX) Fintepla on June 25 and Heron Therapeutics' (NASDAQ:HRTX) HTX-011 on June 26. The big event of the week in the sector is the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Virtual Annual Meeting II running from June 22-24. A large number of potentially market-moving posters and abstracts are due to be released, as well as special sessions on COVID-19 and cancer research. Some of the notable companies due to present include Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ:GILD), AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN), Phio Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:PHIO), Exicure (NASDAQ:OTC:XCUR), Xencor (NASDAQ:XNCR), ESSA Pharma (NASDAQ:EPIX), ImmunoGen (NASDAQ:IMGN), Molecular Templates (NASDAQ:MTEM), Guardant Health (NASDAQ:GH), CRISPR Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CRSP), Jounce Therapeutics (NASDAQ:JNCE), GlycoMimetics (NASDAQ:GLYC), Seattle Genetics (NASDAQ:SGEN), Provectus Therapeutics (OTC:PVCT), ORIC Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:ORIC), Sanofi (NASDAQ:SNY), aTyr Pharma (NASDAQ:LIFE), TG Therapeutics (NASDAQ:TGTX) and Neoleukin Therapeutics (NASDAQ:NLTX).
Bank tests: The Federal Reserve will release results of the annual bank stress tests on June 25. Fed Vice Chair Randal Quarles noted that the test this year includes running banks up against three possible economic trajectories of varying severity to see how they perform due to the unprecedented uncertainty about the pandemic. The test will see how banks perform against a rapid V-shaped recovery, a slower U-shaped recovery and a rough W-shaped recovery. The test results could factor in to dividend decisions down the road for Bank of America (NYSE:BAC), Citigroup (NYSE:C), Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) and JPMorgan (NYSE:JPM), while Capital One (NYSE:COF) and Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) are seen being pushed under the scenarios. Traders are making plays based on the results, with a notable amount of bullish options bets being placed on Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC). Some other bank names to watch when the results roll out are PNC Financial (NYSE:PNC), Truist (NYSE:TFC), Regions Financial (NYSE:RF), Ally Financial (NYSE:ALLY), HSBC North America (NYSE:HSBC), UBS (NYSE:UBS), Credit Suisse (NYSE:CS), Barclays (NYSE:BCS), Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE:BK) and Huntington Bancshares (NASDAQ:HBAN).
Analyst meetings and business updates: Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA) will host a fireside chat for the investor community with members of its management team on June 22. The impact of some of the games introduced at EA Play Live 2020 will be discussed. Hewlett Packard Enterprises (NYSE:HPE) is launching the first-ever HPE Discover Virtual Experience on June 23 to showcase the company's pivot to an edge-to-cloud platform-as-a-service company. In the transportation sector, Kansas City Southern (NYSE:KSU) is participating in a Q&A webcast with Cowen on June 23. Also on June 23, Dell Technologies (NYSE:DELL) has an investor call with Morgan Stanley scheduled. Meanwhile, Sanofi is holding a virtual R&D day event on June 23. Bristol-Myers Squibb has an investor event covering immunology and cardiovascular on June 26.
Conferences rundown: The timing looks spot on for the Jefferies Virtual Consumer Conference on June 23-24 with the pandemic shifting shopping habits in the U.S. Companies due to present include Hasbro (NASDAQ:HAS), Planet Fitness (NYSE:PLNT), Nu Skin (NYSE:NUS), Freshpet (NYSE:FPT), Murphy USA (NYSE:MUSA), Sysco (NYSE:SYY), Hostess Brands (NASDAQ:TWNK), Shack Shack (NYSE:SHAK) and Jack in the Box (NASDAQ:JACK). In the healthcare sector, the BMO 2020 Prescriptions for Success Healthcare Conference features virtual presentations by Humana (NYSE:HUM), Halozyme (NASDAQ:HALO), Horizon Therapeutics (NASDAQ:HZNP), Apellis Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:APLS), Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) and Replimune (NASDAQ:REPL) on June 23. Other conferences of note include the SVB Leerink CybeRx Series CNS Forum, BMO Chemicals & Packaging Conference, Wells Fargo Bricks to Clicks Digital Conference, Goldman Sachs Leveraged Finance Conference and the Morgan Stanley Zero Trust Architectures Virtual Thematic Conference. On the smaller side of the conference schedule, the mining and metals sectors will be in focus, with John Tumazos Very Independent Research virtual meetings set for June 23-24 on Wheaton Precious Metals (NYSE:WPM), Western Copper and Gold (NYSEMKT:WRN), KORE Mining (OTCQB:KOREF), Amarillo Gold (OTCQB:AGCBF), Sierra Metals (NYSEMKT:SMTS), Foran Mining (OTC:FMCXF), Wolfden Resources (OTC:WLFFF), Trilogy Metals (NYSEMKT:TMQ) and Adventus Mining (OTCQX:ADVZF).
Ford F-150: Ford has a digital reveal event for the all-new F-150 set for June 25. The Ford team is expected to describe innovative features of the all-new F-150, including the new electrical architecture, a flat-lying passenger sleeper seat and over-the-air updates to key modules controlling vehicle performance and user experiences. The new truck is seen as a critical part of Ford's plan to slash $5B in warranty costs and push the automaker's vehicle connectivity platform. As a profit generator, the F-150 launch later this year will also help restore the company's balance sheet. The all-new Ford F-150 will be discussed by execs in detail during a June 26 conference call with Citi Research.
Deurbanization trade: Expect more talk from analysts next week about which sectors and stocks could benefit if the mega-trend of people and businesses moving out of downtowns of major cities becomes a reality. Jefferies got the ball rolling last week by singling out Home Depot (NYSE:HD), Lowe's (NYSE:LOW), Best Buy (NYSE:BBY), Floor & Decor (NYSE:FND), At Home (NYSE:HOME), Williams-Sonoma (NYSE:WSM) and Wayfair (NYSE:W) as retailers that could gain from an uptick in suburban living and more spending on houses than metropolitan apartments. One of the bigger pure plays is Tractor Supply (NASDAQ:TSCO), which has racked up a 64% gain over the last 90 days.
RVs: Keep an eye on the RV sector with May shipment numbers due out from the RV Industry Association. Demand is expected to be on the rebound after RV shipments fell 82% in April. Looking ahead, there is a difference in opinion on Wall Street on the outlook for Winnebago (NYSE:WGO), Thor Industries (NYSE:THO), Patrick Industries (NASDAQ:PATK), LCI Industries (NYSE:LCII) and Camping World Holdings (NYSE:CWH). Some firms like SunTrust Robinson Humphrey expect a RV boom as consumers gravitate toward safer vacations, while Bank of America has warned that the high rate of unemployment and salary cuts could keep discretionary spending in check.
Sports betting: Time is running out for the California Assembly to pass legislation on sports betting to move the issue to the November ballot. The bill has to pass through the legislature before June 25 to become an election issue. Why is it a big deal? California is forecast to have the potential for a +$30B sports betting market through sports books placed at tribal casinos, horse racing tracks and satellite wagering facilities. "California could easily become one of the most productive sports-betting markets in the world," observes gaming analyst Chris Grove. Tax revenue from sports betting would also help the Golden State with its budget issues amid the pandemic and economic downturn. Stocks of interest in relations to how sports betting in California plays out include DraftKings (NASDAQ:DKNG), William Hill (OTCPK:WIMHF), MGM Resorts (NYSE:MGM), Caesars Entertainment, Fanduel (DUEL), Red Rock Resorts (NASDAQ:RRR), Boyd Gaming (NYSE:BYD) and Wynn Resorts (NASDAQ:WYNN).
Casinos: The Nevada Gaming Commission is meeting on June 25 to likely approve amendments to state regulations that would streamline the process for moving to modern payment methods. The casino industry in general wants to quickly adopt cashless payment transactions on the casino floor due to the risk of handling cash during the coronavirus outbreak. The casino reset could have implications for Visa (NYSE:V), Mastercard (NYSE:MA) and American Express (NYSE:AXP), as well as financial apps from Apple (AAPL), Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) and PayPal (NASDAQ:PYPL). Casino operators like MGM Resorts, Wynn Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and Penn National Gaming (NASDAQ:PENN) would also welcome the change.
What's not playing: Warner Bros.'s (NYSE:T) feature animated film Scoob! will stream on HBO Max on June 26 after running in a premium video on-demand window. The children's picture was first scheduled for theaters on May 15 before opting for a 48-hour rental PVOD period price of U.S. $19.99. While Scoob! didn't make quite the splash that Trolls World Tour did in the spring when it nabbed $100M in digital sales over three weeks, it's another incremental step away from the traditional studio release format for major studios like Sony (NYSE:SNE), Universal Pictures (NASDAQ:CMCSA) and Disney (NYSE:DIS). As for theater chains, auditoriums are likely to operate at 25% to 50% capacity as AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC), Cinemark (NYSE:CNK), IMAX (NASDAQ:IMAC), Marcus Entertainment (NYSE:MCS) and Reading International (NASDAQ:RDI) open back up this summer.
Notable annual meetings: Companies with virtual annual meetings set next week include Ollie's Bargain Outlet Holdings (NASDAQ:OLLI) on June 22, Dave & Buster's Entertainment (NASDAQ:PLAY) on June 23, Keurig Dr Pepper (NYSE:KDP) on June 24, At Home Group and Tailored Brands (NYSE:TLRD) on June 25.
Barron's mentions: The publication digs out four industrial companies whose stocks are called compelling. Midsize manufacturers RBC Bearings (NASDAQ:ROLL) and Wabtec (NYSE:WAB) join large-caps Emerson Electric (NYSE:EMR) and Ametek (NYSE:AME) on the short list of economy recovery picks. Of the four, Wabtec trades with the lowest forward PE ratio at 14.2. Brunswick (NYSE:BC) is also singled out this week as an advantageous product-mix shift and rising boat demand are seen helping to drive shares higher. Most of Brunswick's profit is derived from the high-margin Mercury engine business. The rally in tech names hasn't encapsulated the entire sector. Attractive names still trading at less than 4X sales include Western Digital (NASDAQ:WDC), CACI International (NYSE:CACI), Leidos Holdings (NYSE:LDOS), Seagate Technology (NASDAQ:STX), Amdocs (NASDAQ:DOX), Ciena (NYSE:CIEN), Accenture, MKS Instruments (NASDAQ:MKSI), Intel and F5 Networks (NASDAQ:FFIV). The cover story this week hits on the rising inequality issue in the U.S., noting that it can be a breeding ground for all kinds of concerning things for the market like secular stagnation.

EVE VEGAS 2020 - OCTOBER 23 & 24, LIVE IN LAS VEGAS

Hello, fellow EVE nerds!
In December 2019, we told you that EVE Vegas 2020 would be going ahead, with a new player committee running the show. Today, we are happy to announce the broad details of Vegas 2020, with a more detailed schedule to come further down the road.
First up, the dates! EVE Vegas 2020 will be taking place across the 23rd and 24th of October. We have a couple of organised events that will be ticketed via Eventbrite, including a Meet ‘n’ Greet on the 23rd, and a Vegas Strip pub crawl on the 24th. There are also some fantastic goodie bag extras included in your ticket price, and further details about the schedule and events will be released when we have finalised everything. In the meantime, you can purchase your tickets at our eventbrite page now, for an Early Bird price of $75!
We have also organised a discount accommodation rate for all EVE Vegas 2020 attendees. This is through Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel, which is a Caesars property. This hotel and casino offers all the usual things you would expect from a Casars hotel, from nice rooms and an on-site bar and restaurant to opportunities for you all to throw the dice. Bally’s is right on the Vegas Strip, so you’ll be right in the thick of it with all your fellow nerds too! Check out all the details on our official event website!
One aspect that always crops up when it comes to player events is that every alliance wants to have their own particular event. We respect this, but at the same time, Vegas is a time to mingle and have fun with those people you didn’t necessarily know before. So, we would like to offer an opportunity to anyone organising an alliance dinner or event - If you wish to open your dinner or event beyond your particular alliance or coalition, we would love for you to reach out on discord to Hyprviper#3885, and we will add the details of your event to our Vegas 2020 website.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your ticket now, and we’ll see you in October!

Starting Out:
If you've just started Project JoJo, this is my guide.
When you join, you'll have little cash and no stand. First, you want to find the wooden dummies. They are near one of the spawnpoints, just explore the map and you'll find them. You want to continuously punch the dummies, and get 3500 cash. Killing a wooden dummy grants 50 cash. If you get a level, press M and check your stats. Put all your stat points into Power for now, as this increases your attack power. Don't worry, you can reset your stat points later in the game.
When you have 3500 cash, then go to the shop and buy a stand arrow. The stand arrow will appear at the bottom of your screen, and use it quickly before you get killed, as items get lost if you die in this game. Press M and hover over the "Ability" button to see your stand. Mash the buttons on your keyboard to see what your stand does. You can also pick up arrows from the floor, they spawn every 5 minutes.
Here is the rarity tier for stands - check how rare your stand is:
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/project-jojo/images/5/5e/Unknown0.png/revision/latest?cb=20200406193200
What if you decided to get the 500$ instead? Well, instead of buying a Stand Arrow, you need to get the stand "Shotgun" from the store. It may be a weak ability, but it helps you complete quests.
What is a "Rokakaka Fruit"?
A rokakaka fruit, or commonly referred to as a "ro ka" due to Roblox's chat filter, is a red, spiky fruit that you can find around a spiky, thin plant with a green leaf on top. When you hold this item out, you can either redistribute your stat points, or delete your stand pernamently. Remember that any stands that are tier 5 or over are generally considered "good" by the majority, with some exceptions lower than tier 5. Rokakaka fruits can also be bought from the shop for 500$.
The next step is to grind, grind, and grind again. Wooden dummies have an extremely fast spawn rate, so they are ideal for grinding coins. Continue to use a rokakaka fruit to delete your stand, and then use an arrow again. Only stop once you get either a tier 5 or higher, or either The Sun or Ratt. You can find many tutorials on the Internet teaching you how to use Ratt and The Sun properly for farming, so I won't go into detail about it.
NPC's:
You may see specific NPC's around the map in random places. We'll be talking about the different types of NPC's here.
Quest Givers:
There are several types of quest givers. The main quest givers, with the quest name floating above their heads, give a quest bar on the side when you click on them. You can only take 1 quest at a time, and quest progress does not save. They are basic NPC's, staying in the same position and offering no dialogue.
The other type of quest givers, in which there are only 2 in Morioh, the main map, have dialogue and their quests do not appear as a quest bar at the side. You can take a normal quest and one of these at the same time. Quests from the more "intelligent" NPC's are usually harder and quest progress for them does save. Jotaro Kujo, one of these 2 quest givers, is located behind the school. The other, Gyro Zeppeli, is located in the train station at the centre. Both of them unlock vital parts of the game, including rare items and another map to go to.
Spec Givers
These are randomly spawning NPC's around the map. They also are a vital part of the game, but I won't be talking about them in this guide. However, note that Gyro, one of the spec givers, looks exactly like Gyro Zeppeli.
Stand Storage
If you go in the restaurant near the centre, you will meet Enrico Pucchi inside. He can store a stand that you want to keep, and he has 9 slots. Note that you need 500$ to use the Stand Storage. You also need at least 5% worthiness to access the Stand Storage, but using it does not deduct your worthiness. More about worthiness is in the next section.
Bosses
DIO - Drops DIO's diary, gives worth, spawns every 30 min - 1 hr
Kira - Drops either Red Aja - Stone Roka - Requiem Arrow at a 1/3 chance each, 3 minute despawn time, 30 minutes - 2 hours spawn time
Notourious B.I.G - Gives access to Italy when doing Gyro Zeppeli's quest, drops $5000 ~ $10000?
Diavolo - Drops a Corpse Part, spawns in Italy every 30 min - 2 hr, despawns in an unknown amount of time
Worth Guide:
If you use an arrow and get, say, a tier 6 Star Platinum, then if you have 100 worth, you have a 100% chance of getting a tier 7 as your rank got boosted by 1. If I had 50% worth instead of 100%, then there would be a 50% chance that I would get a tier 7 instead.
I would also lose 10% worthiness, as whenever you use an arrow, you lose 10% worthiness. The maximum worthiness you can get is 100, in which you would be able to get at least a tier 2 stand.
The glowing diary and bone that spawns around the map gives 10% and 5% worth respectively. The quests A Huge Issue (gives 5% worth, at school) and Assault The Titans (near river, gives 10% worth) are some quests that give worth.
DIO, who has an half an hour to an hour spawn rate, spawns near the Casino in Morioh and has 1,200,000 HP. Basically a Titan Dummy, but said Titan Dummy will spam timestop and steal your HP.
9/10 of the time, you get 100 worthiness and that can be seen in the form of a white aura arounf your character. If you don't get the white aura or if you see a diary on the floor where DIO died, you've gotten DIO's diary, a rare item that can reset subspecs or ascend certain stands (it can be used to make MiH, TWOH, and SPOH).
Italy:
Another map that you can access by completing Gyro Zeppeli's quest. Diavolo, Space Dummy, Enrico Pucchi, Holy Dummy, Rubber Dummy, and Evil Star Platinum User can be found here. Rare items like the Aja Mask have a chance of spawning here.
Dummies:
Wooden Dummy: The worst dummy in the game, but ideal for cash farming.
Ice Dummy: Slightly better, and what The Sun users farm with.
Stone Dummy: Found in the caves below Hyperspace Dummy, an average dummy.
Metal Dummy: Found at most of the spawns, has 1500 HP.
Giant Dummy: Found at the school near Jotaro Kujo, objective of the quest A Huge Issue, has 50,000 HP.
Titan Dummy: Found around the map, as tall as a building. Has 1 million health.
Hyperspace Dummy: Found above the cave with the Stone Dummies, changes color. Can dodge almost every attack and has 150,000 HP.
Ultimate Dummy: Found above the waterfall. Has 100,000 HP, but nearly impossible to kill as he regenerates half his max HP every second. There is only one per server, and it does not respawn.
ITALY-Holy Dummy: Found in Italy. Takes 1/2 damage and gives 0.5% worthiness when killed. Has 75,000 HP.
ITALY-Space Dummy: Found in Italy. Takes 1/10 damage and gives a lot of EXP.
ITALY-Rubber Dummy: Found in Italy. Reflects almost all attacks back to the user. Has 1,000 HP.
Evil NPC's
Evil Stone Free User: Uses the stand Stone Free. Has more HP than Evil Star Platinum User.
Evil Star Platinum User: Found in Italy. Uses the stand Star Platinum Prime. Has less HP than Evil Stone Free User.
All items
Rokakaka Fruit: Resets your stand/stat points.
Stand Arrow: Gives you a stand.
Wrench: When clicked on with no stand, gives you the stand Cyborg.
Diary: Gives 10% worth when clicked on.
Bone: Gives 5% worth when clicked on.
Cash Pile: Gives 300 cash when clicked, 500 when collected with the stand Harvest.
Red Aja: Used in Jotaro Kujo's 2nd quest, also used to make Aja Mask.
Aja Mask: Spawns in Italy. Can be created by talking to Jotaro Kujo with a Red Aja and Vampire Mask in your inventory. Gives the ULF spec to stands, or if used on Kars, gives the stand Ultimate Lifeform.
Stone Rokakaka: Used to give the Stone Human subspec, now is the major component in fusions.
Rebirth Arrow: Got removed.
Requiem Arrow: Gives the Requiem spec, which gives a 25% boost in stats.
Specs
Specs are basically a sort of sub-stand, and in some situations, you can have 2-3? specs and a stand. Some specs like Hamon can be used without a stand, and some sub-stands can affect which stand you get from an arrow or are a requirement to get a specific stand.
List of specs (may be incomplete)
Hamon - Gives a boost in stats. This subspec can be bought in the shop for $15,000, but using Hamon is not generally reconmended unless testing it on a disposable stand or attempting to get Caesar's Hamon, as there are much better subspecs.
Vampire - Makes the stand Vampiric. Can be gotten by a Vampire Mask, which spawns around the map and can be bought at the shop for $15,000. Vampiric is considered to be even worse than Hamon for some as even though it makes all attacks heal the user, it takes high damage when exposed to sunlight.
Blessing - A blessing is obtained by using a Corpse Part, which is only obtainable by killing Diavolo in Italy. There are many different blessings, like Exalted, which prevents all damage by posing. Note that you cannot do a fusion while you have a blessing on your stand.
ULF (Ultimate) - Not too sure about this one. I think it gives a massive boost in stats? Tell me in the comments if you have more info about this spec.
Spin: Has its own set of abilities without a stand. With a stand, it gains a power boost when the meter is charged up?
Stands that can only be gotten by using specs
Purple Hermit: Has purple-like vines tangled around its arms. Can attack with arms and swing around like Spiderman.
Ball Breaker: Obtained by using an Arrow when you have the Spin spec with no stand.

I Made One Rule in The Haunted Casino and Someone Broke It

So there's a pandemic going on, yeah? "Shelter in place", "Lockdown", "Quarantine", and a lot of other words and terms that mean STAY AT HOME. I still have to go to work. The casino I work at closed back on March 5th (pretty ahead of the curve if I do say so myself). The layoffs cut us down to 6 security guards, and that's it. We work two 12's solo and two 12's with a partner every week now. It's not so bad, if you can get used to the guests.
I showed up 15 whole minutes early, probably a personal record in the 9 years I've worked for the casino. I pulled around to the back lot and climbed out of my car. Sherry was standing outside the employee entrance, absentmindedly puffing on a cigarette.
"Any news about when this quaransino shit is gonna end?" I said as I sidled up beside her and lit a cigarette of my own.
"This place ain't never gonna open back up. Newest data says October." She said through an exhalation of blue-grey smoke.
"Data can be wrong." I reminded her. She shook her head, snubbed her cigarette, and turned to go inside. With the beep and click of a card reader and the squeak of an old metal door, she was back inside.
I observed the back lot while I finished my cigarette. The casino is in the middle of nowhere. Surrounded on 3 sides by dense woods, with the only opening containing the main parking, and beyond it, an old state highway. With a capacity of 441, we aren't Caesar's Palace. I snubbed my cigarette and headed inside.
I swung through the empty administration area and into the security office. Sherry was sitting at the desk, staring severely at a clipboard. "God damn", I said, "what's the number for today?" She laid the clipboard on the desk. "Look for yourself. I'll see you in the morning." And with that she whisked past me and was gone. Look for yourself I thought in my mocking-est tone, and picked up the board.
INTERIOR SITE CHECKS - 12 EXTERIOR SITE CHECKS - 12 TEMPS - NORMAL
Under the standard lines were the handwritten notes we all made when we worked solo shifts:
I read over the line again. "MITK" or "Man in the kitchen" was one of many peculiar phenomena that we'd began experiencing just after closing. Probably two days after the doors locked and the layoffs started, a fellow graveyard shifter called me in the middle of the night, swearing that someone was in the casino's restaurant kitchen. I told him to have Surveillance verify and then attempt to make contact with the subject. Funny thing is, Surveillance didn't see anything except a two-way kitchen door swaying gently due to the HVAC system. The next day, the whole Surveillance department was laid off.
I don't know if it's the culture of ghost hunting shows or the general interest in the supernatural and strange, but the oddness in the closed casino doesn't really seem to bother any of us. Sometimes we'll go a full twelve and experience nothing but a chill and maybe a few unexplained knocks. Last week we all had a laugh at Tom Mocton, the graveyarder who had seen the first oddness at the casino, because a small girl in a white dress had chased him through the place only to catch up to him, laugh, and disappear. That's how he told it anyway. I've caught glimpses of the girl between the rows of dark machines, but she's never taken a notion to approach, much less chase me.
The only one in this last month that caused any problems was the man in the kitchen. It started out really mundane: Someone would be on duty and notice the two-way door to the kitchen swinging. They'd investigate and find nothing. The night after the first sighting, I'd been on duty with Tom and heard crashing in the kitchen. We ran to the area to see the door swinging. We entered and found a complete mess. Prep table flipped over, dishes thrown everywhere, and all the knives stuck into the ceiling. After that night, I told everyone still working graveyards to stay out of the kitchen.
Calls were made to upper management, who told us we were psyching ourselves out sitting in an empty, dark casino all night. We explained that we'd all seen it, and were told that we should be happy that we didn't get laid off, and to just enjoy our work. They didn't answer any calls after that; they were laid off, I heard. At this point we don't even know who's paying us, but the checks show up in our accounts and that's all that matters.
Staying out of the kitchen has worked fine. There are noises, of course, but if ignored, they'll just stop. It seems like the man in the kitchen wants attention, and if he cant get it, he gives up. Pretty simple compared to some of the other oddnesses in the casino. I say oddnesses because I don't think they're ghosts. The place is fairly new, less than 20 years old. It hasn't had time to be infested with old-timey ghosts. It doesn't matter. The checks go into accounts, etc.
I pulled out my pen and wrote on the clipboard.
1800 - On duty 1815 - Settling in for Netflix
At around 2000 after finishing up my breakfast, I was getting ready for a site check when I heard a phone. It was a standard iPhone ringtone; you know the little jingle. It was coming from the kitchen.
"Oh, that's a new one", I said to myself as I grabbed the clipboard. Then the screaming started. Screaming and wet thuds along with the normal glasses shattering and tables flipping. I jotted it down:
2005 - Def. MITK. Making grosser noises now.
I put off my site check and listened. He really wanted me to come into the kitchen apparently. Spectacularly gross noises were coming at a breakneck pace. I even heard some screams and whimpers in there. Eventually the cacophony died down and I completed a site check, noting that the prep area door was swinging. best of luck with that one, ya pecker, I thought as I walked past the dining area leading to the kitchen.
I settled back into my seat and immediately jumped when my work phone rang. I fished it out of my pocket and saw a number I didn't recognize. I answered the phone and a woman came on. She asked to talk to Tom. I told her he wasn't working that night. She told me he was. I told her to hang on while I went and checked the schedule.
When I got in the security office and checked the schedule, under my name was an asterisk
Thomas Mocton 1800-0600
I hung up on the woman and immediately called the cops.
They found his phone, if that's worth anything. An older iPhone. It was in the walk-in freezer. Tom was...well Tom was everywhere. When I escorted the officers into the kitchen I turned right back around and went back out. I saw all I needed to see. It looked like the walls had been repainted crimson...very thoroughly. While the police were still surveying the scene a crew in haz-mat suits accompanied by a much smaller crew in nice black business suits showed up. They announced that the company had hired them to clean. I don't understand how they were hired and showed up just under 15 minutes after the police arrived. I don't care. Checks, accounts, etc..
The police asked me if I had heard anything. No one was gonna believe that a ghost in the kitchen killed Tom. I barely believe it. The police contacted Sherry and she came and gave a statement, saying she hadn't heard anything on her shift. The men in the suits who came with the cleaners didn't talk to me at all. They threw caution tape over all the doors to the kitchen and told us that the company had ordered us to stay out indefinitely. All of us graveyarders got an email letting us know that they were deeply saddened by Tom's sudden decision to take his own life on company property, but also that our jobs are important and we must move forward from this.
The company isn't paying for leave, and I'm not asking for any. I'm typing this out while I sit in the casino by myself, getting ready for my last site check before my shift ends.
The thing is, I swear I saw Tom going into the kitchen just now. The caution tape is torn down and the door is swinging. Maybe the police got it wrong, and he just left his phone in the freezer while doing temp-checks. I'm gonna go check it out real quick.

Casino workers in Vegas sue over coronavirus safety concerns

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 61%. (I'm a bot)
LAS VEGAS - Unions representing 65,000 Las Vegas-area casino workers accused some resort operators on Monday of putting employees at risk of illness and death during the coronavirus pandemic by skimping on safety measures like a requirement for mask-wearing.
"They want to work, but they want to work safe," Culinary Union executive Geoconda Argüello-Kline said of hotel housekeepers, cooks, bartenders, vehicle valets and others.
A lawsuit filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas does not directly cite the death last week of Adolfo Fernandez, 51, a Caesars Palace porter and union member from Las Vegas who was diagnosed with the COVID-19 respiratory illness after returning to work when casinos reopened June 4 after a three-month shutdown.
The lawsuit points to the experiences of employees at an eatery at Harrah's Las Vegas, valets and porters at the Signature Condominiums towers at MGM Grand resort, and restaurant kitchen workers at the Bellagio casino.
Despite "Overwhelming evidence of the importance of mandating facial coverings by guests in public areas of casinos and hotels," the document says, "Defendants, along with other casinos and hotels in southern Nevada only 'encouraged' guests to wear face masks."
During the economically devastating casino shutdown imposed in mid-March, union officials consistently called for Gov. Steve Sisolak, the regulatory Nevada Gaming Control Board and the Clark County Commission, which oversees the Las Vegas Strip, to impose strict worker safety measures.

Visitor's Guide to Detroit Red Wings hockey at Little Caesers Arena 2019-2020

Welcome to the 2019-2020 Detroit Red Wings season. This is the third version of this guide to help out visitors looking for some information from locals about Little Caesers Arena (LCA) and surrounding area in Detroit. I hope you find it helpful. Suggestions welcome!

Caesars Casino email

As you are planning your next visit to one of Caesars Entertainment’s properties in North America, we anticipate that you may have questions about the company’s efforts to manage Coronavirus (COVID-19). Every day, we closely monitor and analyze developments and statements from local, national and international health agencies, and we are taking actions to comply with their directives which are based on facts and medical science.
There is no issue more important to us than making sure we manage this situation as effectively as possible so you continue to feel confident visiting us. We have appointed a senior management team who meet daily to make decisions on how we can further improve our programs and actions to help protect guests and employees. The health authorities tell us that, to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, we must: wash hands frequently, heighten cleaning practices, avoid contact with sick people, stay away from work when ill and not travel to areas with high infection rates. All our actions are focused in these areas.
Here’s where we are at this time:
We are reminding employees through multiple channels about washing hands often. We are talking to them about it, posting signage in key employee areas, and providing additional hand sanitizer dispensers as well. For guests, we are posting hand-washing signage in public areas (e.g., bathrooms) and providing more hand sanitizer dispensers across our properties in high visibility and high traffic areas. We are also increasing our reserves of hand sanitizers for use by our guests and employees over an extended period. We are buying more cleaning and disinfectant supplies. We are increasing the frequency of cleaning high-touch surfaces in public areas in our casinos/resorts, including restaurants, bars, spas, fitness centers, public restrooms, hotel rooms, elevators, as well as frequently touched areas on the casino floor. We are reinforcing training procedures to ensure cleaning processes are implemented properly by our employees. We have suspended international business travel to areas with higher infection rates. And, if any of our employees travel to those areas for personal reasons, they will be required to stay home for three weeks upon their return. If an employee appears to be suffering from flu-like symptoms, they will be asked to promptly seek medical attention and to remain at home until they are free of symptoms. We are encouraging guests who are ill to seek medical attention and to avoid public exposure as much as possible. We have also established protocols to help guests get the medical attention they may need. We are using sanitizing procedures in hotel rooms where guests who become ill are staying. We appreciate your business and loyalty to Caesars. The Locked Cabinet and the Virus

I had been called to the city of sin for a bi-annual conference that I had taken for the past 24 years. I had sat through it in health, in the cold, rain, and sickness. I was there 10 days after Tupac was murdered, and was walking down Fremont street several months later on the day when they took Christopher Wallace. A year later in 1998, a colleague and I woke up to a phone call from my then wife telling me about what happened to President Clinton, and that was when the words, "For a blowjob?" coming from my companion led me into a similar predicament. For the next several years, a tangled divorce that I've never fully unwinded from, occupied my attention. It wasn't until the morning of September 11th in 2001 that gave me the wakeup call I needed. I scooted the young blonde out of my room and told her to call her dad, since I knew Tom was in New York that day.
Mosque bombings, terrorism, market bubble bursting, swine flu, recession, succession, shootings, a shooter, second divorce, new house, new life, and the same old job on the same old beat all meant that Las Vegas and I had been doing this dance through the thick and the thin for over two decades.
And I have never seen it like this.
My uber driver nodded, "Yeah man. Shit is wild. I only picked up 8 people in the last 9 hours."
He was young, the new leather interior in a wide bodied Escalade smelled like an expensive loan. His eyes were twitchy as he tried not stare at me, wondering if I was going to cough from all the dry mouthing I had been doing from the LAS to my hotel.
I had grown used to the stares, the selective social distancing for looking Chinese and all of its stereotypes as the weeks leading into March of 2020. The beginning trend of people instinctively coughing whenever they saw me soon became a daily ritual. It was all a part of tribe mentality I convinced myself, chuckling as I remembered the pie scene from the movie Stand By me.
That made my uber driver nervous.
"Here we are," he finally breathed.
I thanked him and proceeded to the service counter with my carry on.
"Sorry for the wait," replied the representative, "We laid off 80% of our staff this morning."
I was taken aback by her candid greeting.
"Looks like you'll be in a private room owned by one of our guests. And as it is not through the hotel, please contact your host for any services that you require. We will need a $500 deposit on a credit card for any incidentals."
Several minutes later I found myself riding the elevator up 26 stories and into my rental. I contacted my host through the app to let him know that I had arrived. It was my first time using the app service so if anyone wants to chime in on how necessary or unnecessary that action is, please, enlighten me.
I had chose this room because there was a large, deep soak bathtub. I don't have many preferences in life but if there is a chicken fried steak on the menu I must get it at least once, coke over pepsi, and onion rings. Don't ask me why they are all food based, but they are, except for the bathtub. At nearly 6'1 I am always trying to find a decent soak. When I was younger my grandmother owned a Japanese soaking barrel, and ever since then I have been chasing after that nostalgic experience. Instead I often find myself cramming, contorting, and cold above the chest.
There was not much for me to do as President Trump had canceled his conference with the Jewish Coalition, which meant that other subsequent CEO's began withdrawing from all the other Vegas conferences. Something that I should have foreseen, which could have otherwise prevented me from traveling during this time. But there was no helping it, and this was definitely not the worst place to be stuck in.
I looked into the bathroom mirror and decided to wash the trails of the airport from my face and then made my way down to the casino floors. Everything was closed. All the restaurants anyways. So I hailed a cab and found my way to Gordon Ramsay's Hells Kitchen. The best lobster risotto I ever had, a mediocre bar experience, a change of hands for an 8 ball on the street, and I was on my way into Caesar's Palace. I had reasoned with myself that my foresight was not the best at this time so blackjack and poker were out of the question. I stuck to roulette and craps, winning big at the dice. And if you've ever been to a high roller table then all the movies are true, there you will find willing women to blow on the ivories for you.
Somehow we found our way back to my room, a slew of fancy cocktail dresses and Victoria secret's underwear were strewn in a near comical fashion. A rolled Benjamin walked down Abbey road. And there's nothing quite like two young and beautiful women taking pictures of your junk to brag to their friends later to accentuate your high. Everyone loves an anomaly.
The two of them were in town for CONEXPO, one of the world's largest construction gatherings. One was 28 and a leading architect for a large firm and the other was a 32 year old forewoman who was sent to accompany her to fill in the job's specifics.
"You've got soft hands for a construction worker," I quipped.
She raised her drawn in eyebrow at me, "Not as soft as a desk jockey's."
We both laughed until our eyes were drawn to the young architect who had begun to slowly undress in front of us. She swayed her hips to the lofi soul of Joji. My champagne glass sparkled in the light as the smells of girl scout cookies lit up the bathroom.
"You don't mind if I smoke do you?"
"Oh, give it here," came the architect's voice.
"I should probably get an ashtray."
I got out of the tub and walked into the living area. I pulled open a few drawers, and found nothing. I tugged on the handles of the cabinet underneath the wetbar only to find it locked. That was when I noticed the notice stickied on its door, "Please do not open. These are my private possessions," made with a cheap labeler. "There's probably alcohol in this thing," I said aloud. I turned to look into the bathroom but neither of them seemed to care as I watched the water falling from their hair and down their backs. The rest of the night was well, you can imagine.
I woke up around 4:30 A.M. and heard an ungodly rattling. As I stirred in bed, I heard a voice asking sleepily, "What was that?"
"I don't know," came another voice. "It's probably the pipes or something."
The architect was unsure so she got up and turned on a light. She turned to look at me, "Did you get this on AirBNB?"
"Yeah, something like that."
We heard the rattle again. I could tell that she was afraid so I decided to get up with her.
"Do you know where the light is," she asked?
"Nope," I said as I struck a match for dramatic effect.
"Oh god," she rolled her eyes.
I smiled, "It's more fun this way."
She grabbed my arm as we made our way into the larger part of the suite in search of the noise. We looked in the closet, the bathroom, the enclosed toilet, and I even pulled a few drawers open for effect.
"What is this," she asked me. She had found the cabinet under the wetbar.
"I don't know. It was locked when I got here." I struck another match, "It says not to touch it or something, owner's possessions I think."
"Oh god, that is so creepy," she moaned. "I once went to this place in Lake Tahoe and it wasn't until the last day that my boyfriend found a loft that was hidden because the stairs had been removed. When he climbed it, there was a router and a twin sized bed in the corner. Super chills man."
"Well, the cabinet is too small for anything weird to be in there," I told her.
"You don't know that, have you ever seen those double jointed circus people?"
"Well, if there's some more champagne in there, then I wouldn't mind breaking the lock."
"It would be warm," she said.
"Ah yes, the important things."
We laughed, but just as we were going to get back into bed she ran into the bathroom and got a towel and tied an extensive knot around the handles.
Several hours later we were woken up with a loud banging. I bolted up in bed.
"Sir!"
My mind raced to gather itself and assess at least 9 things wrong with my current situation. Cops, someone's boyfriend, my wife? Oh shit, why was I still getting myself into these predicaments? You would think I've learned a thing or two by now.
"Sir! This is hotel security. Are you in there sir? We're asking everyone to evacuate the building."
I got out of bed and rushed to open the door before they keyed their way in, "Hey what is going on?"
A man in an N95 mask and gloves was at the door, "Sir, we've been asked to evacuate everyone out of the building immediately. The hotel will be closing due to SARS-COV-2."
"What's going on," one of the girls asked.
"Miss, everyone needs to leave. We are evacuating the building. Please gather your belongings."
I looked at my companions and subsequently told them, "I can't believe they canceled Vegas."
For the next 20 minutes we scrambled to get ready. For a group of strangers it worked decently well. We cut the last lines and split it between the three of us. A smile, a kiss, and a hurried goodbye later meant that we found ourselves rushing for the elevator.
"Oh god, I forgot about the towel I tied to the cabinet," the architect said.
"It shouldn't be that much of a problem. Someone will just take it off later," I tried assuring her.
"What if no one gets back in there for weeks?" She looked at me slightly anxious, as if she was afraid to breathe the words, and a side of me knew what she was going on about.
"Alright, I'll go back," I told her.
The forewoman looked confused.
"I'll got with you," the architect said.
"No, you two get downstairs and see what is going on."
She looked at me with these doe eyes, the same look that has kept me awake for the past several days as I am laying here in boredom.
"I'll be fine I told her."
I ran back to the room, slid my keycard and began to untie the knot on the cabinet. And in my paranoia I took a video recording of the place before leaving, just so that I had evidence that the room was left in relatively good order later. The door slammed behind me, I pulled up my app to request an Uber as I made my way to the elevator. My phone vibrated, it must be the app I reasoned as I began shifting through my luggage to make sure I had gotten everything. When I reached the ground floor I searched for my two companions but found hotel personnel were rushing people into open taxis and Ubers to the airport. An entitled prick stood outside the valet desk as a manager profusely apologized for the inconvenience and how the hotel would compensate for one thing or another as he opened the door to a Porsche Panamera.
There was nothing for me to do except get into an Uber. I pulled up my phone expecting to see a familiar message that notified me that my driver would be arriving in 3 minutes, but instead it was a message from my host that simply said, "Thank you."

Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesar’s Palace: Official Drunken Reddit Review

FINALLY made it to LVP’s latest venture in Vegas tonight. After a few days of drunkenly wandering around the Strip, I made sure to set aside an hour to check this place out. TLDR: it was pretty nice, LVP (or The Maestro, whoever) has an eye for detail and the drinks are amaze balls.
When I walked up, I was surprised to see the “garden” extending out into the casino (the previous champagne bar that occupied the space didn’t have this). The part in the casino mimics the outside of Villa Blanca and it feels like you’re on a patio. Cool, but there’s slot machines like 10 feet away soooo....eh. My husband and I went to the bar and the inside of the place was really cool: dark, plush furnishings, had a “boutique” feel to it. The bar itself was really nice, and for couples they had comfy bench-type seating instead of individual bar stools (a nice touch). The bartenders were professional and personable. I found it interesting none of them played up the fact LVP is a reality star, they’d say things like “the goat cheese balls are a favorite in our other restaurants in LA”, but the menu has a few LVP “inside jokes” such as a drink named for Giggy. So, if you don’t watch the show you’d have no idea who/what the fuck a Giggy is 🤷‍♀️. Also, all drinks using Vodka are made with LVP’s own vodka brand (TIL she has a vodka...and you can buy it at Caesars property gift shops).
I ordered the Matcha Matcha Man drink and it was sooooo good. My husband got the Blood Orange Old Fashioned and it was really good as well. The ice cube had an orange rind around the outside which was another nice touch/attention to detail. Our drinks were $17 each...steep, but they were delicious. We didn’t order food because my husband was still slightly hungover from the night before (it was like 7pm!!! Omg).
Conclusion: drinks were really, really good but pricey. I can’t imagine getting more than 1 round there. Atmosphere was luxurious. I also wonder how many people who may go there even know who LVP is, because the employees don’t seem to play it up too much for the patrons (which was nice because it doesn’t feel gimmicky). I also wonder if someday this bar will be mentioned and/or filmed for RHBH/VPR because right now it seems so far removed from LVP’ s reality show life. But, I recommend checking this place out, if anything you’ll get a good drink out of it.
EDIT: I am adding an edit to my post: apparently, I stumbled upon a soft opening because the official grand opening was on Saturday March 30. That may explain how easy it was to just walk right in, and how I wasn’t even sure it was open 🤷‍♀️ either way, I highly recommend it

Business Model Innovation Is the Key to Navigate Through Tough Times

Blockbuster, with its 84,300 employees, and over 9000 stores worldwide, was driven to bankruptcy by its competitor Netflix. While both companies were offering similar products and services, Netflix’s biggest and probably sole competitive advantage was its unique distribution system.
The landscape of failed vintage businesses is broader and riper than we had imagined. As innovation in the products and services stratosphere skyrocket to its peak, organizations are compelled to innovate their systems and processes to sustain cut-throat competition.
A 2015 survey from PwC said 54% of global CEOs were uneasy about new competitors and an equal percentage of CEOs said they were competing in non-traditional markets or were thinking of doing so. By 2018, this number grew substantially. A 2018 study from KPMG said 70% of 270 large organizations were funding innovation through their annual budgeting process.
In this article, we cover some of the prominent ways organizations are reinventing themselves.

The Need to Re-Invent Business Models

Disruptive technologies have shrunk the average lifespan of organizations from 15 years to five years. Innovation lays the route for the organizations to survive beyond this crunched period by equipping them with the right competitive advantage. Your competitors may copy your products, services, and other aspects but they will have a hard time identifying subtle tweaks in your internal business processes and by the time they do so, you would have moved to the next innovation.

Strategies for New Revenue Streams

Innovation with new products, new markets, new technologies, and investments has been a matter-of-course and, Startups have always been running on innovation steroids. However, it drastically tapers over time with small and big successes that build trust in systems that work, habituating both employees and leaders to think and work in patterns.
In established businesses, most processes are run on an ad-hoc basis and in the day-to-day convenience, strategists and leaders often miss the subtle refinement points. Business model innovation involves major changes in the organization’s internal processes while keeping every other variable constant i.e. with existing products and for existing markets.
Focused business models and hedged portfolios are the two commonest business frameworks. Here’s how leaders are rethinking them for better results:
Business Model Innovation in Startups:
Startups are using business model innovation for identifying value propositions through rethinking:
To maximize performance, Startups can:
Calibrate Offerings with demand: The biggest risk comes from fluctuating demand. If two portfolios offer equivalent returns then, going ahead with a less risky one will bring more value in the long run. LiveOps sets up its infrastructures, signs up for clients before going ahead with their staffing. Staff members are paid according to the duration of calls they attend.
Use Lean-Startups approach: Most Startups begin with some vague hypotheses about the opportunity and the model is revised as the Startup learns its way ahead. BBureau, a mobile beauty and wellness service, experimented on a number of models before arriving at their final pop-up delivery model.

Business Model Innovation in Existing Organizations:

Existing organizations are using business model innovation for fine-tuning their operating model by:
To Maximize Performance, Existing Organizations Can:
Refine with progress: Prioritize your customers. American Airlines introduced dynamic pricing aka SABRE systems in the 1980s. Passengers pay varying prices for seats depending on availability. The model is also replicated in Uber’s “surge pricing”. Caesars Entertainment, a casino and hospitality company, prioritizes high value-adding customers for its bookings through its Total Rewards loyalty program.
Promote flat and open decision making: Decentralize decision-making and give decision-making powers to the most informed employee. Google gives its full decision-making authority to its employees about the development projects that the organization must pursue. Walmart gave its stocking decision making rights to its supplier Procter & Gamble. Following the success of the arrangement, P&G has extended the process to its other big suppliers.
Use technology: Not Your Average Joe’s, the Boston-based restaurant chain, uses Muse, an algorithm, to track its servers’ performance w.r.t sales per customer and the customer satisfaction level. The algorithm also has a productivity-based ranking system that helps servers schedule their shifts and tables.

From Products to Process:

Legacy models are harder to tweak as their customers are accustomed to their products or services and any kind of prominent change might be unwelcome at first. Organizations need to think through both the defensive or offensive strategies to approach business model innovation.
Business model innovation can greatly improve your organization’s resilience in disruptive times. It will help you optimize your existing process and services. While innovation in the products and services sphere seems to be saturating fast, innovation in processes can last for a long time to come.
How do you plan to innovate?
